Hello, this is Farhad Barakat, Yazidi activist, translator and interpreter from Sinjar in northern Iraq.
What happened to the Yazidi people in 2014, 3rd of August by ISIS was one of the most difficult things for us as Yazidis.
Since that time, hundreds of thousands of Yazidis have been living in IDP camps in Kurdistan and other places in Iraq.
But as we see, day by day our Yazidi people have been returning to their homeland, to their city of Sinjar. In just the last 2 weeks, more than 30 Yazidi families returned to Sinjar. This is one of the most important things for us, one of the most beautiful things for us, which makes us happy. Because people are closing the doors of IDP camps and returning back to Sinjar city.
Just today, more than 10 families returned to Sinjar. Very important for us as Yazidis.
