They just finished the rescue operation in the Dnipro, and a new tragedy has shaken Ukraine. A helicopter of the State Emergency Service crashed in the city of Brovary, Kyiv region, falling on a kindergarten. At the time of the disaster, children and staff were in the building. They were immediately evacuated. Debris from the helicopter damaged the kindergarten building, as well as glazing a fourteen-story residential building and 3 cars.
All nine people on board the helicopter died. In particular, they are Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi, First Deputy Minister Yevgeny Yenin, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovich. Currently, the total number of dead is 14, including one child. 25 people were injured, including 11 children.
From President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy: “My condolences to all the families and friends of the victims! Denys, Yevhen, Yuri, the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs... true patriots of Ukraine. May they rest in peace! May all those whose lives were taken this black morning rest in peace!”
The leaders of many countries also expressed their condolences to families of the victims. In particular, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
